November Thanks-Day 24: Home
Home is where the heart is many people say and it is without a doubt, what I believe to be 100% true in this world. Wherever you go, you carry your home in your heart. And wherever it is I go, my home follows me at all times.
I recently came back from a beautiful trip in Texas, my home state, and me and Andrew had so much fun. I enjoyed every single minute there, the moments I shared with my family, my best friend, my cousin, laughing and catching up on things old and new. There is something so beautifully special about hearing the ones you love laughing together.
Moments when I'd be there sitting still, not saying a word, and simply taking in the sounds of the man I love so dearly, laughing with the family I love so much. If there is one thing in this world I don't ever want to forget, it would be that sound. That sound that filled my heart with so much more love and joy, and brought peace to my soul. I miss my family always and being together makes everything even more complete. They are the stories of my past and present, the stories I hope to create with them in the future. And being with them, the four of us, was magical. Having Andrew there just made it even more fulfilling and joyous, and I am so thankful that they love him and that he loves them right back. My family.
I will never forget where I come from. I will always remember the morals and lessons that my mother instilled in me to live the life she has always dreamt for me. And I will always remember the values that Texas taught me. Although Texas is no longer my home, whenever I am there, my heart is with it.
Back in Vegas I feel that all the things that have led me to where I am now, were meant to be. As cliche as it sounds, my journey's in life have led me to the place I am happiest to be, with the one man on this planet, that makes it even more wonderful.
Tonight I am home, where my heart is, and I am completely content. I am grateful to have the home I have with the man I love, joined together by two different cultures and backgrounds that have become a union. I am thankful for everything that creates my home, the comfort I feel when I am there, and the peace in knowing that once I step foot inside the door, I am where I want to be. Where my heart is.
