Rain, Rain, Here To Stay

Living in Las Vegas for the past six years, I haven't seen many real storms, the ones that shake the house and make the sky spark.

For some reason however, of which I am not complaining one bit, there have been more thunderstorms these past few months since I moved here.  And I am loving every single minute of it.   Every.

There is something sexy about the rain, as my ultimate favorite, Kenny Chesney once sang.  It's the kind of weather that makes you change into a baggy sweater and sweatpants, covered up in a blanket, and wanting nothing more than to watch movies and snuggle in.  The kind of weather that makes taking it all in, sexy and comforting.  It's the best.

And today, on this beautiful Friday, I am doing just that.  Part of my resolutions chart is doing what I love; staying true to who I am.  And truly, more than many things I enjoy, watching the rain and letting the comfort of the storm soothe me, is part of who I am to the core.  Simple.  Effortless.   Relaxing.

Sticking to my resolutions this week has been a welcoming challenge.  I may not always complete every item in my resolutions chart, but I am also not focusing on perfection.  I am solely focusing on doing the best I can with what I have at this moment.   Changing your attitude and the way you think on a daily basis, is not an easy task.  And I have read and heard so many times that it takes 20 days to form a habit to where your brain can recognize that and begin to process it daily.

So I am patient.  I focus on the right now.  I give myself credit for the work I am doing and I allow myself to feel stressless, because I am.

With the clouds covered in gray, a smile spreads across my heart.  It is in the smallest of things where happiness and love reside.  In the silence, where love speaks loudly without any effort.

Happy.  That is what I am.
