Lights will guide YOU home…..
Have you ever been lost? Not geographically speaking, but metaphorically if you will. I have. I've been lost many times. And I've lost a fair amount too. When I've set a path for myself, it has never failed, that I always find myself lost off course; afraid that if I don't find my way back, I will never get home.
And then I saw this #letteritjuly saying and it struck a chord in my soul. Of course for anyone who knows "Fix You" by Coldplay, you know that this is what the song is all about. It isn't really about fixing someone, but more, helping someone find their way back when they have lost it all.
And we all have at some point; lost it all. It can be humongous for some and minimal for others, but we have all been there. We have all been lost and we have all lost. And for the brave souls, even if they don't speak it, their souls show the pain of that.
The truth of these words is this-when you find yourself lost and afraid, whether literally, mentally, emotionally, physically, what have you, just look for the lights. Look for the light of the moon, the stars, the sun, the lights on the street. In a world that can sometimes be filled with darkness, always know that there is an infinite amount of light still out.
My lights call me when I get lost in my head or my worries. For me, light can also be someone or something; a sound, a smell, a touch, etc. And my lights are the sounds of laughter and love filling up a room; my pup's love bark when I walk through the door; my mom's scent; my sibling's face; writing; reading a book with my Christmas lights (still) on in my bedroom; and always, him.
We are not always or forever lost. It always passes. And we always find our way back.
