Dwell in Possibility
Dwell. It is not a common word one would associate with good. To dwell means to remain in something for a long time. For me, dwelling can sometimes be too natural and too common. But….when I saw this #letteritjuly saying, I though, "Hmmmm….I like the sound of that instead."
Emily Dickinson said this. Dwell in possibility. And for me, I'd rather dwell in this than dwell in some negative bullshit that doesn't and won't matter tomorrow.

Possibility is out there, all of the time. Sadly, the world we live in and what society speaks of the majority of the time, shifts focus on all that is still very much possible. Instead, all I hear are things that are not possible, ideals and images shoved down the throats and eyes of every human being. Be this, do that. Love this, hate that. The standards that are far too impossible to live up to, much like the expectations we all create.
Many people have told me more than once in my life, that my expectations for myself and that of others are always too high, too hard to live up to. And in many ways, they are right. I don't want anyone to live up to any standard I've created for them in my mind.
Now, all I want, is to see the infinite possibility that lies within each human being I know. I'd rather dwell in that, in their imperfect perfect self, than all that is flawed.
I'd rather dwell in all the dreams and possibilities that I hope to live someday, instead of all the things that could go wrong but very rarely, ever do.
To dwell in possibility means to live not in a fairytale trance or some unrealistic version of yourself and life, but instead, to live in all that could go right. All that is out there, waiting to be explored and created.
Life is too fucking short. It goes by way too fast. And not everyone gets to live long enough to see how it all panned out. But the one thing we must and can do, is dwell in the infinite possibility that life still has to offer.
We are the makers of our own lives. We are the ones holding the control. We just have to see it more to believe it.
